LOL Every morning at 6:45am SHARP the jackhammers and clanging rebar has become my alarm clock...
EVEN ON FUCKIN' SATURDAYS FOR CHRIST SAKE! So this monring [Sunday] I'm SHOCKED that I was able to sleep in until 9am [SOOOOOOO UNLIKE ME] and I havta admit I sure needed it. After taking care of Marc for a week after his gall bladder surgery and Brentage getting the flu of the century
after that, I've been a BUSY BUSY BOY! 
I gotta admit, playing nurse-maid isn't my strong suit, but I managed to get my boys back on their feet again....
Anyway, my street has been ripped up and all the beautiful cherry trees gone [gonna miss the beautiful blossoms in March/April] They are supposidly going to have wide sidewalks and the only trafic will be buses and delivery trucks. [one good thing anyway] All other traffic will be re-routed to either Richards and Seymour Streets. They are supposed to have everything ready for the Olympics, but they are going to be pressed for time to get the new subway and my street finished. I CAN'T FUCKIN' WAIT FOR ALL THE DESTRUCTION TO BE DONE... And tho I voted AGAINST having the Olympics here, I am now looking forward to seeing how our city will look after all of this work is done. And the concept of people from all over the world coming here for 2 weeks [and THEN LEAVING] should be quite the party... AND I'LL BE RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF ALL THE MAYHEM!

6 months of this is starting to grind down on my LAST GAY NERVE...

HA! Don't believe everything you read... The poor business owners are the ones taking the financial brunt of this urban face-life. Unfortunately, the city of Vancouver has absolutely NO regard and NO compensation to the people who's businesses are either going under or going so far in the RED that they'll need a small miricle to stop the hemmoraging. Signs like this are just offensive, and do NOTHING to ease the minds of the small busniess owners here on my street. NOT ONE THAT I HAVE TALKED TO IS HAPPY ABOUT THIS... The guests in the high-priced hotels are just livid having their vacations disrupted by the relentless early morning disruptions. Even tho there is a by-law clearly stating no noise before 8am they somehow curtailed this law with an easement so they can start at the butt-crack of dawn. I'm all for making my city better but AT WHAT COST? For a 2 week testosterone-fulled blow-out??? Does the world REALLY care about this government sanctioned nonsense??? Not according to anyone I have talked to about it... the answer is NO! And the budgets for security [now at OVER A BILLION FUCKIN' DOLLARS and the embarassing, money grubbing disaster known as the Olympic Village, so OVER BUDGET it's downright disgusting] So much so it brought down the civic government in the last election... But now the damage from these sleazy politicians is done. Our previous mayors who got us into this mess in the first place are now "not comfortable" discussing it with the meda anymore.... HOW CONVIENIENT! They're NOT COMFORTABLE???!?? I guess not... If I had made this deal-with-the-devil I'd be humiliated too. BOO-HISS to the jerks that imposed this nightmare on the good citizens of our fair city. The politicians have a lot to answer for, regardless of their discomfort dealing with it now. SO LET THE "GAMES" BEGIN...
