First Ed McMahon... then Farrah Fawcett... now MICHAEL JACKSON

 Well... they say deaths happen in 3's... First ED McMAHON... then FARRAH... now MICHAEL JACKSON... wow   I used to be SUCH a huge fan of his when I was a teen/young adult.  I remember living in Hollywood when the THRILLER album came out.      I swear I played that record everyday for years.  I just loved it.  His videos... his dancing... he was just the most incredible performer I ever saw.  And I was attending the American Academy of Dramatic Arts, so I was  obsessed with his flair for fashion and drama.  Everyone wanted to be him...  BUT THEN... it seems that fame totally turned him into a freak-show.  Legal battles on all fronts... strange behaviors like having a chimp as a best friend... the dames he married... the extensive plastic surgery,   his propensity to be attacted to little boys... and in the end trying comeback after comeback... until the pressure of  it all finally did him in...  So disappointing... and sad really.  What a waste of a very talented man. But I think he began to believe his own press... and got sucked into the vortex of perscription drugs and alcohol.  I really wonder if the presure of all those concerts he booked in London [50 of them I believe] may have been the last nail in his professional coffin. They are also having an auction sale next week in Seattle of all of his possessions.  What a way to go...  Bye Michael...

Yes, it is sad that Michael has passed away. He was to our generation what John Lennon was to our parents' generation, and it really is sad that such a legend has left us.

Michael's life was not an easy one, you know. His father was physically and emotionally abusive, and the pressure Michael was constantly under to perform was extraordinary. When the pigment began to disappear in his skin, people made jokes left, right, and center, and I'm sure that hurt him very deeply. The accident with his nose - well, he said himself that he left that disastrous surgical work as it was so that he would never forget the price of fame.

I don't believe that Michael was good father material, but I do believe that he loved his children, and that he loved children, period. And I DO NOT believe that he EVER molested ANY child. Michael had emotional problems, but I don't believe he was capable of molesting children.

I for one am saddened that the world has lost this musical genius and legend. Perhaps, if he'd been treated more like a human being instead of some kind of freak show, he wouldn't have taken his own life (that is my opinion; there has been nothing in the news about whether his cardiac arrest was sudden or inflicted by an overdose) when he was overcome by despair. I guess we will never know...
